A promising update reported by Dinas Lingkungan Kehidupan (DLH) DKI Jakarta affirmed that the enforcement of the government's regulation no.142 2019 on plastic bags ban has resulted in an 82% drop of plastic bag use.

According to Rita Ningsih, head of waste management in DLH DKI Jakarta, Jakarta specifically reinforced the plastic ban on public spaces such as shopping centres, convenience stores, and public markets.

Rita stated that plastic bag use in public markets remains under control. She also mentioned cooperating with PD Pasar Jakaya to assert further on the government's regulation no.142 2019 on plastic bags ban.

With this progress, Jakarta finds new hopes for a cleaner and greener future of the city.
